Installation Guide

FlowSend requires BlueBubbles to run parralel to work with FoxFlow.

BlueBubbles Installation Checklist

  • Install Homebrew (if not already installed):

    Run the following command in Terminal: /bin/bash -c "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Homebrew/install/HEAD/install.sh)"

  • Add Homebrew to your PATH:

    Run the commands in Terminal to add Homebrew to your PATH that appear at the end of homebrew install.

  • Install BlueBubbles via Homebrew:

    Use the macOS Homebrew link provided by BlueBubbles. Typically: brew install --cask bluebubbles

  • Open BlueBubbles and allow it to run:

    Open BlueBubbles; it will give an error since it's not a signed macOS app. No concern, don't uninstall—just dismiss/close the warning. Then open System Preferences > Privacy & Security, scroll to the bottom, and allow BlueBubbles to open.

  • Grant Full Disk Access:

    Go to System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy > Full Disk Access, and add BlueBubbles.

  • Enable Accessibility:

    Go to System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy > Accessibility, and add BlueBubbles as per their documentation.

  • Request iMessage Access:

    Follow this URL to request to use iMessage on the specified device: https://apple.co/IMFT-mac

  • Go through the BlueBubbles Setup wizard and select manual, create a server password:

    Remember this password for FlowSend Setup.

  • For proxy setup, choose dynamic DNS/Custom url:

    Use http://localhost:1234

  • Check/Enable Message Privacy API:

    Set the auto start method to Launch Agent (crash persistent) and keep macOS awake.

  • Run caffeinate to keep your Mac running:

    You can also run caffeinate -disu to keep your Mac running.

FlowSend Checklist

  • Download FlowSend and open the disk image:

    Download the FlowSend installer and open the disk image (.dmg) file.

  • Move FlowSend to your Applications folder:

    Drag the FlowSend application from the disk image to your Applications folder.

  • Open FlowSend and go through the setup wizard:

    Launch FlowSend from your Applications folder and complete the initial setup wizard.

  • Generate an API key in FoxFlow:

    In FoxFlow, click your user icon (top right) --> Organizations (select the correct organization) --> Select FlowSend Tab --> Generate Key.

  • Use the API key during FlowSend setup:

    Enter the generated API key when prompted in the FlowSend setup wizard.
